Special Occasions and Christmas 2009

This was our traditional hike to Kolob Arch trip we take every March. This was also when my birthday camera broke so yeah we only got two photos and some crummy video footage. We decided to hike to the river spot and camped out there. It was SUPER SUPER COLD! We only packed our light sleeping bags and only one skinny mat to lay on so we toss and turned all night because our sides would get sore from laying on the hard ground. Then after we woke up from that we fall asleep briefly but then only to wake up again to change positions. BURR! It was nice and warm in the morning so we hiked to the Arch and then hiked to the car. We did come out of this experience learning something new, that it is worth bringing heavier sleeping bags to make the time more enjoyable. :)

Our 2nd year anniversary trip to the cabin, this was taken near the bristle-comb pine tree trail.

This Christmas we decided to make our presents for Phil's family. I was taking a printmaking class and thought it would be cool to make a print of the Green Family Cabin. I also thought it would be cool to give each of them a copy as a gift. So the project began! I carved out the huge 2'x3' linoleum block, it was very time consuming but phew I made it! :) Next was printing them. Phil was able to come help me make the prints at the school, it was great I think he appreciated it more once he knew the process it went through to make it. After that was done Phil began making frames for them. He had fun doing that and I think he finished most of them in the course of 3 nights. All the Greens were over at our house for Christmas Day and we suprised them all with the print. It was such a great idea I hope we can do something similar again in the future.

For Christmas Phil and I like to go to homes where children are present so we went to Jeff and Adrienne's. Braden and Casen were so fun to watch opening their presents! When they came to wake us up Braden told us all about the note Santa had left and all the cookies that he had eaten. We didn't take many photos but here is one of Casen showing off his present.

Cabin Trip Mar 2009

This is one of the many cabin trips we took. This one was in March of 2009.

The cute kids we had to keep us entertained when our own company was not enough.

The boys doing what boys do best. :)

Shantae and I

Just bumming around. And it looks as though Phil just got done picking his nose... ew!

This is of Michelle with her plastic bag shoes to keep her from getting muddy. As you can see it was very VERY muddy.

The Grandma Bradshaw Reunion July 2009

These were taken at the Green Cabin during the Bradshaw reunion. This one is of Phil and Katelyn his favorite niece named Katelyn.

Shotgun shooting is a must if any of the Green boys are involved and yeah they were. I was one of the only girls that wanted to go. I think I may have beat one guy... but I can't remember.

We also went GEO-Cashing. This was not the first time I had been but it was pretty dang fun. We had a hard time hiking up to the top of this hill to find the last GEO-cash for the day so we had to document it as an accomplishment. We hope to go GEO-cashing again sometime.

McCall Parsons Reunion Aug 2009

These photos were all from the Parsons Annual Reunion. We went back to McCall Idaho, (one of the first Reunions we had was there) so it was fun to visit again. This trip made me think of my Grandma Parsons a lot and it was fun to feel that she would be happy we continue to have Reunions.

Phil and Ryan were having a competition, each won once and that was enough so....

Then they decided to push in my sisters and cousins. it was great. I was holding Jaclyn's camera so I did not get thrown in at this time but don't worry Phil threw me in later! :)

Phil, Dad and Mom on our hike to Duck Pond or Creek, it was a very pretty hike! Phil even took some of it home with him, he carried a 25lb piece of rock from about 1/2 a mile from the end of the hike. He is crazy! But the rock does make a good decoration and gets fun conversations started. :) I was much smarter and carried 2 smaller palm sized rocks.

This photo is an example of how crazy relatives can get when they all get together. My cousins, sisters and I all made a lipsync to Lady Gaga's "Just Dance." It was way fun and Phil will have to tell you how 'awesome' it was. :)

On our way home from McCall I found a place called the Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls Idaho. Since none of us were really in a hurry to get home I talked the members of my family into going there as a side trip. We took the waverunners into the Snake and had fun playing there, it wasn't too busy and Mom and Phil needed breaks from driving anyway. I love spontaneous stops that are AWESOME! :)

2008 Continued

Ok so I really am new to this blogging stuff so all the photos are in reverse order! YAY!
This was our 2008 formal Christmas picture with my family. We spent it that year with my parents and then spent the rest of it with the Greens at the Cabin.

Phil bought us both tickets to the midnight showing it was awesome. Phil may have been one of the only men in the audience but we had fun.

For my birthday Phil bought me a digital camera (that sadly no longer works) new shoes and running socks along with Ben and Jerry's ICE CREAM! :) what a guy! This was the year I made a bet that I could go a year without candy or sweets and ended up winning just last year and got a bike as my prize! :)

Summer Games 5k that I ran with Kenzie. it was fun!

Phil and I in Hawaii near the temple. We love HAWAII!! and if you recall from last post this was taken in July.

Spring/Summer 2008 in a nutshell

Since I don't really want to spend lots of time playing catchup I'm going to just post a couple of main photos that I have from the years leading up to this one...

This was what I got Phil for New Years Eve... at first I thought he was going to kill me because I kind of just surprised him by bringing him home. Phil did not say much to me all new years eve because he was so shocked/mad about having a kitten. I was only able to keep him after he said, "Well you are going to have to take care of it!" This kitty knew he had to get on Phil's good side and soon he did! We named him Sosete which means "Socks" in Romanian. Phil and he are very good friends now.

This photo was taken after we had moved into Mike and Emily's House in the SWEETEST basement apartment EVER! (before living here we had lived in two other basement apartments with much smaller bathrooms and much less room.. this place was great it had 2 bath and 3 beds, too much room for two people but we loved being that close to Mike and Emily and kids!)

This was when Lins had a case lot sale and I decided it was time to start my own just in case! We have some left over from then but we do enjoy having it.
These two photos are from Spring of 2008 when Kenzie Emily and I were all training together. We all had a goal to run the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon in July so in the mean time we did any race we could find. :) Above is the Nursing 5k and below is the SUU Indoor Triathlon. Kenzie ran, I swam and Emily biked. (so much fun!)

This was our First Cruise together (AKA second Honeymoon) We went to Cabo San Lucas on the Carnival ship Elation. We had such a fun time! (sorry for the single picture, trying to sum up a year is hard!)

After going on our Cruise Phil came back home to "graduate" even though he still had summer English classes to finish. This is him and his parents on that lovely day!

These photos were taken in Hawaii for our 2nd 2nd honeymoon. We spent 1 week in July on Oaiho. It was fun and I'll post more photos from it on next blog but I'm having troubles with the loading of photos so we shall see!
