Angel's Landing Hike

The beginning of the Hike, it was kicking our butts at first, but we were still happy to be out! We were supposed to do Kolob Arch since it is Tradition to hike it in the month of March because that's when Phil proposed to me, but it freakin had to snow so we chose a worthy alternative: Angel's Landing.
Phil always it ahead of the game when we go hiking, he is the man!
Val climbing the 1st round of switchbacks
Far way down to fall! I was so Scared, I think this was the most scared I've been in a really long time! WAY TOO HIGH up for me! And without anything to catch me! YIKES!!!!!!!!!
These were taken just as we were about to head down the mountain, I said Phil could get on top of the highest peak but there was NO WAY I was going to get up there. He is so buff! :)

Blasted Cedar City SNOW!!

This is the only good thing about winter snow in March.

Yesterday evening Phil, Valerian and I dug up one of our trees
(an extra cherry tree) that was planted in the middle of our backyard. We had raked all the leaves and decided to give the extra cherry tree to Emily as a birthday present and now there is a lovely hole in the ground which is now covered in snow blah! I hope it melts so we can continue to do yardwork!

This is the view from my sink inside
And this is the lovely hole in the ground blah! the root is what is covered in snow.
The bags in the distance are from the leaves we cleaned up yesterday when there was NO snow!

Ok I just needed to vent about the snow so I hope you enjoyed it! Phil and I are just ready to start gardening and living up to our last name, Spring hurry please!

AND now to the CURRENT! 2010

This year has already been a blast and we have been so blessed. In my massive amounts of posting I forgot to mention one of our other big things of 2009, we bought a house! It is great it is a 6 bedroom 2 bath and WAY TOO BIG FOR 2 people, I guess that means I'll be having babies soon, j/k ;) Yeah for my birthday we had a double party a Housewarming/Birthday Party at our new place. :) It was great! Lots of friends and family came, I unfortunately took no photos then but I can add photos of the house itself! :)

And this next photo is what I want to do to the outside of it to make it not light pink and salmon trim.

Since we have this huge house we decided to get a foreign exchange student, Jeff, Phil's brother, had one last year and we did too for a month with Mike and Emily and it was great so we thought we would try it out as being the actual host parents.
This is from the day we picked him up from the air port.

His name is Valerian, or Val for short and he is from Belgium. He has been lots of fun and we love having him with us. We picked him up in the St. George airport in January and he has been living with us ever since. It has been great!

As for my last semester of classwork I have been using many different 'tools.' This is my toolbox idea for my painting class. We are doing psychological self portraits and I decided to focus mine on the many different roles I have been playing this year.

I am in some fairly difficult Physical Education classes and 2 art classes. It has been really hard to keep up on everything but I am doing alright I think! Since we have another mouth to feed I've been trying to cook more and once last month I cooked this AWESOME Curry!

So that was another tool that I added to my toolbox. I also will be taking the Art Praxis, a test I have to pass so I will be able to teach art, next Saturday... yikes so close! So I included the art praxis booklet too. I am confident I will do well enough on it but I have been studying as much as possible! Wish me luck and pray that I will pass so I will be able to student teach next semester!
